Supporting 100 Families in Mathare, Ngong

Leja recently participated in a drive aimed at impacting the lives of those in need through a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activity in the Mathare slums, located in Ngong. This initiative was to show our commitment in giving back to the community and making a tangible impact where it is most needed.
Our mission was to support the families most affected by the recent floods. With the invaluable help of local leaders, including area chiefs and wazee wa nyumba kumi, we were able to know those who needed it the most and with that we were able to identify the top 100 most needy families.
Preparing the packages for each family was no small feat as each package was carefully arranged to include essential items such as food, learning materials, and clothing. By providing these essential supplies, we aimed to offer not just immediate relief, but also a glimmer of hope for the future. Witnessing the smiles and gratitude of the recipients was a powerful reminder of the importance of such initiatives.
This initiative was not just about providing aid; but about building and strengthening relationships. Through this effort, we have forged stronger bonds with the community and its leaders. The collaborative spirit that was cultivated during this process has laid a solid foundation for future initiatives.
As we reflect on this, we want to thank the Global Hope Rescue Center for the street children, whose assistance made this mammoth task manageable and everyone who supported and participated in this initiative. Your contributions have helped us achieve our goal of bringing hope and relief to those who need it most. Let’s continue to work together and make a positive impact, one step at a time.
